Safety & ESA disclaimer
Last updated: 1 October 2026. Important — read before purchasing or installing equipment.
Not an electrical or engineering service
Catalog pages, kits, the system sizer, and the homepage system builder produce ballpark packages for planning and purchasing parts. They are not stamped electrical designs, load calculations, or site-specific engineering. Final design must be confirmed by a qualified professional for your roof, structure, grounding, service size, and local code.
ESA and licensed work (Ontario & elsewhere)
- In Ontario, electrical work generally requires a Licensed Electrical Contractor and notification/inspection through the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) (or the applicable authority having jurisdiction).
- Outside Ontario, follow your provincial, state, and local electrical code, permitting, and inspection rules.
- Grid-tied systems typically require utility approval and interconnection agreements. Off-grid systems still need safe wiring, disconnects, and often inspection.
Your responsibilities
- Hire licensed electricians / installers as required by law.
- Obtain all permits, inspections, and utility approvals before energizing equipment.
- Follow manufacturer installation manuals, torque specs, clearances, and battery/inverter environmental ratings (indoor vs outdoor).
- Verify SKU compatibility (voltage, communication, breaker sizing, racking wind/snow loads) before ordering.
No guarantee of production or incentives
Estimated energy production, autonomy, and incentive eligibility (rebates, net metering) depend on site conditions and program rules. Sound Solar does not guarantee kWh output, backup runtime, or incentive approval.
Assumption of risk
Improper installation of PV, energy storage, or related electrical equipment can cause fire, shock, property damage, or injury. By purchasing, you acknowledge these risks and agree that Sound Solar is not liable for installation errors, failed inspections, or utility rejection. See also our Terms of sale.
